About Danger Slut
From the moment when the unassuming drunk girl on the flight from Berlin to Los Angeles revealed herself as a badass terrorist bitch willing to blow up a plane and murder hundreds of innocent people in the pursuit of money, Mandy has captivated fans of 24. The classic archetype of the female spy, she is willing to use anything at her disposal -- her wits, her smarts, her body, even her own lover -- to achieve her shady goals.

We don't call Mandy a Danger Slut with the intent to demean her -- we simply acknowledge that this is a woman who is unafraid of any dangerous situation and who is willing to use her body to prey on men's weaknesses in order to get her job done.

A Brief History of Mandy
We first meet Mandy in the very first episode of the series, on a flight from Berlin to Los Angeles. The plane is about a half hour away from its scheduled landing. Mandy is flying first class and is seated next to a photographer named Martin Belkin who is travelling to LA to take pictures of Presidential Candidate David Palmer at a breakfast rally the next morning. Mandy appears to be drunk and, decked out in a skimpy demin miniskirt and black blouse, does not have any trouble engaging Belkin in a flirtation by asking him about his escapades as a high profile photographer. Mandy easily lures Belkin into the bathroom to have sex with her. While she is engaged with him, she steals his identification from his pants. Just as the plane is about to land, Mandy drugs the flight attendant and quickly changes into a skydiving suit. She arms a bomb she had hidden in the fire extinguisher. 5 seconds before the bomb is about to explode, Mandy detonates a second mini-bomb which blows the door off the plane and she parachutes to safety. We see the plane blow up in the distance as Mandy floats in the air from her parachute.

Once on the ground, Mandy buries the stolen ID and burns her skydiving equipment. A Jeep arrives and picks her up. She is taken to a compound, where she meets up with a man named Ira Gaines. We gather that Mandy was hired for a million dollars to blow up the plane, thereby killing Martin Belkin, and to steal his ID. Gaines gives her the cash, and wants to know where the ID is. She says he'll get it soon. He asks her to participate in a job in the summer. Mandy says she's not interested.

While at the compound, Mandy encounters an assassin named Jonathan who has had plastic surgery to look like Martin Belkin, the man she just killed. He has been hired to kill David Palmer and plans to use the ID she stole from Belkin to assume his identity gain access to Palmer.

Shortly thereafter, Mandy's girlfriend Bridgit arrives at Gaines' compound with a polaroid of the ID. Both Mandy and Gaines are confused, as Mandy expected Bridgit to deliver the ID itself. This is all part of Bridgit's plan to get more money from Gaines. She convinces Mandy to extort Gaines for an additional million dollars to get the ID. Tearfully, Mandy tells her that she is going to get them both killed, but Bridgit feels invincible and assures Mandy that no one can hurt them. Mandy reluctantly agrees to go along with Bridgit's plan, but something doesn't feel right about it.

Gaines appears to conduct a wire transfer on his laptop, delivering an additional million dollars into Bridgit's account. Bridgit agrees to take Gaines and Mandy to the location where the ID is hidden. Once Gaines has the ID, Jonathan shoots Bridgit in the head with a sniper rifle from the opposite embankment. Though Mandy sheds a tear for Bridgit, it is clear when Gaines tells her "you had no choice" that Mandy betrayed her girlfriend to save herself.

This is the last we see of Mandy until the shocking conclusion of the second season, when out of nowhere, Mandy emerges in a crowd of people at a press conference held by David Palmer, who is now President. She shakes his hand and he almost immediately collapses with laboured breathing as Mandy disappears into the crowd. She places a phone call to Max, who was revealed as the mastermind behind the plot to detonate a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles, saying simply "it's done."

This is the last we've seen of Mandy until the final three episodes of Season 4. We know that the son of the Secretary of Defense, Richard Heller, is somehow connected to a terrorist who has launched a nuclear warhead targeting a major American city because his cell phone records indicate a call to this terrorist, Habib Marwan. Faced with this evidence, Richard Heller confesses that he was seduced by a woman and her boyfriend not long before and that the woman must have used his cell phone to make a call while he was in bed with the man. We discover that the Danger Slut in question is none other than our Mandy!

CTU tracks Mandy and her accomplice to an apartment building. Realizing she's been cornered, Mandy does not hesitate to coldly shoot her lover and accomplice in the heart before planning her escape route so that he can't compromise her. During her escape, she encounters Tony Almeida on the roof of the building and takes him hostage, killing several other field agents in the process. After researching the identity and history of her hostage, Mandy wonders whether Michelle Dessler, Tony's ex-wife and CTU Director, is willing to compromise national security to save her husband as he did for her two years before.

Mandy phones Michelle and orders her to reroute her men from the northeast entrance of the building or Tony dies. At first, Michelle complies, but her conscience gets the better of her and she lets Jack Bauer and her boss Bill Buchanan in on the situation. Jack suggests that Michelle string Mandy along until they can position for a takedown. Michelle agrees.

In the meantime, Mandy has knocked Tony out with a tazer and dropped in on her neighbours. She kills one and takes the other two hostage. See, Mandy has already deduced that Michelle was going to double cross her, so she put in motion an elaborate plan to fool CTU into thinking both she and Tony were killed. As CTU watches from a distance, two shadowy figures enter a car. Moments later, Mandy tells Michelle over the phone she can see her men. Suddenly, the car explodes as a bomb in the car goes off.

CTU immediately assumes that both Tony and Mandy were killed in the blast, but Jack Bauer isn't so sure. He reviews the video footage of the explosion and the phone call again and again until he finds a hole -- the rain pattering down on the windshield of the car in the video cannot be heard in the audio recording of Michelle's conversation with Mandy. Jack realizes the explosion was staged.

Meanwhile, Mandy realizes that Jack hasd figured out her scam and will find her soon if she doesn't get out of there. She holds Tony at gunpoint and leads him out of the apartment. On their way out, Tony intentionally cuts his foot on some broken glass on the floor, hoping his bloody footprints will leads Jack to their location. When Mandy and Tony get into the parking lot, Tony attacks Mandy with his Krav Maga combat moves, but because he is handcuffed, she eventually overpowers him. Just then, Jack catches up with them and holds his gun on her. Mandy assures Jack that she will not hesitate to kill Tony if Jack doesn't back off, but Jack doesn't blink. He keeps Mandy engaged long enough for Curtis Manning, another CTU agent, to sneak up on her from behind and disarm her.

Once in CTU custody, Jack offers Mandy a deal. He tells her she'll be pardoned for any and all past crimes if she gives them the location of Habib Marwan and her information leads CTU to stop the nuclear warhead. Being a professional, Mandy has no loyalty to Marwan and knowing she has no chance of escape, takes CTU's deal. Now that Mandy has been pardoned, she lives to see another day and hopefully another season of action is 24's most intriguing villain of all time!
