Reiko Aylesworth to Join Cast of “Damages”

Posted by Kasia on September 30, 2009 at 9:17pm » 2 Comments

Holy shit, I just about peed my pants when I saw this item on Michael Ausiello’s Twitter Feed. He reports on his blog:

Former 24 heroine Reiko Aylesworth has booked a recurring role on Damages, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Not surprisingly, details about her character are being kept under wraps. The actress joins a season 3 cast that also includes new series regulars Campbell Scott and Martin Short, as well as special guest stars Lily Tomlin and Keith Carradine.

Production of the show’s 13-episode third season began last week ahead of a January debut.

Oh my Almeida, I already couldn’t wait until Season 3 of Damages started, but now, I’m tingly all over.

Sean Callery Edged for Emmy by Joseph LoDuca

Though I was frustratingly unable to find any actual news items on it, a Press Release issued by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences confirms that Sean Callery lost the Emmy for Original Composition for a Series to Joseph LoDuca of Legend of the Seeker. Is it bad that I have to ask what that show even is? I’ve never heard of it.

Callery previously won 2 Emmys, in 2003 and 2006, for his work on 24. What it comes down to for me is that I will always think Sean Callery’s work on 24 is superior to any other composer working in primetime today. The only other one I would put on equal footing with Callery in terms of talent and vision is Michael Giacchino of Lost, who also worked previously with Abrams and the gang on Alias. But my point is that, I don’t even have had to have heard any of the other nominees’ work to know Callery is the best! He’s just beyond amazing. And while his output is always exceptional, his work on Season 7 was some of the freshest and gutsiest stuff he’s done on the show in a long, long time — probably since Season 3. (more …)

Ms. Jones (looking GREAT, I might add) celebrated a not entirely unexpected, but still welcome, win at the Emmys yesterday as she scooped up the statue for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her substantial, understated and multifaceted performance as President Allison Taylor in the seventh season of24, knocking off the likes of the very talented Rose Byrne, Sandra Oh and Dianne Wiest. Although Carlos Bernard walked away empty-handed from another awards show, having been edged for the Best Actor in Drama ALMA by Benjamin Bratt of The Cleaner, he looked mighty fine doing it.  Here are a couple of shots, courtesy of TopNews.in, of Carlos arriving on the red carpet with wife Sharisse.
