Well, Season 6 is upon us. People have written in wondering where the updates are. The fact of the matter is that I just don’t have the same passion for this website that I once did now that Tony’s gone, which means that the regular features we’ve had in the past, like Famous Last Words and debrief chat transcripts won’t be posted this season. If you all must know, Matt was so disappointed and disillusioned by Season 5 that he’s not even watching this season. And like Tony was an empty shell of a man without his Michelle, I am an empty shell of a fan without my Matt. Yes, I am watching. Yes, I am still commenting and critiquing, mostly on our message forum, but my fandom will never ever be the same without Matt. A sad fact. This website was our baby and our baby has lost its daddy.
That being said … you all know how I felt about Season 5. It was heartbreakingly bad for so very many reasons. But I am kind of just trying to view Season 6 as a clean slate and enjoy it for what it is, let it entertain me, and not resent it for going mainstream and no longer being the brilliant work of art it once was. It’s another TV show to me now. But since all I expect to get out of it this Season is entertainment, it’s doing its job in that regard.
