Kasia Going AWOL for awhile …

Posted by Kasia on February 14, 2005 at 11:54pm » Comment

I am saddened to report the passing of my grandfather Bill Fowler early Saturday morning February 12. I will be flying to England on Thursday, Feb 17 to see my family and attend my grandfather’s funeral, and I won’t be returning until Wednesday Mar 2. I will miss 2 consecutive episodes of 24, though I will be taping them while abroad. Right now, I am not sure what is happening with this site in the interim. I plan to talk to Matt to find out if he might run things while I am gone, as he did last time, but his access to the Internet right now is sporadic at best.

I will have no internet access while I am out of Canada. Any e-mails, fanlisting membership applications or anything else related to this site will not be updated or responded to between Feb 17 and Mar 2. Whatever Matt and Kat may find the time and resources to do while I am gone might be updated, but as of Feb 17, all visitors should expect this site to be on hiatus until Mar 2.

Karaoke Revolution Disses AIG.com

Apparently whoever writes the TV columns over at “Karaoke Revolution” thinks we are creepy losers. Coming from someone who writes for a website called Karaoke Revolution, I’m not too concerned. Too bad the writer forgot to turn on their sense of humour before checking us out.

As I write this, I see that AIG has officially reached the 20,000 hits mark! That’s 20,000 loyal Almeidaists who disagree with KR.Net!

Tony Almeida Is STILL God!!!

Posted by Kasia on February 8, 2005 at 11:59pm » Comment

Wow. Well! What to say in the aftermath of learning that our upstanding hero and dedicated patriot is now an unemployed alcoholic ex-con? We say this: TONY ALMEIDA IS STILL GOD!!!! This was far and away the best episode yet of Season 4. We are finally back to the stellar writing and interpersonal dynamics that has made this show so great for 3 seasons. Tony Almeida has saved Season 4.

Every season we tout that the people behind 24 have given us the most significant Tony episode of all time. And every subsequent season, we are proven wrong when 24 outdoes itself and gives us an episode of even greater Tony significance. All aspects of every Tony revelation are discussed in detail in our latest updates.

Anticipating Answers …

Posted by Kasia on February 7, 2005 at 12:00am » Comment

HAPPY HOLY DAY to all. We’ve had a long wait this week, and so many questions! Why is Tony not in prison? What is happening between him and Michelle? How did Jack know where to find him? How did Tony get to Jack’s location so damn fast? What prompted Tony to re-cultivate the soul patch? All will be answered tonight, we hope, but MAN, it’s been a difficult week. I’ve been thinking about Tony so much that I’m starting to fear for my own sanity. Actually, no, not really, but man, I missed Tony SO MUCH. Thank Almeida that Almeida has returned to bring some life to Season 4.

I have noticed a strange theme of Tony awesomeness that unites all the Seasons together. Tony’s storyline always seems to get really interesting in episode 7 or 8. In Season 1, episode 8 is the point in the season where Nina brings Tony in on Jack’s situation with his family, and Tony captures Jamey in the bathroom. In Season 2, episode 8 is when Tony brings Reza and the Warners back to CTU, thereby FINALLY uniting the Warner plot with the main plot, and goes all badass on Bob Warner. In Season 3, episode 7 is Tony’s first episode back after he is shot, and he reveals the hugest twist of all, that the Kyle Singer virus threat/prison break was a huge hoax. NOw, in Season 4, episode 7 marks Tony’s triumphant return. In episode 8, we will get our first taste of true Tony action. Is this all a coincidence? Only 2 hours and 15 minutes until new Tony. Thank Almeida!!!

Latest “24: Inside” Webcast Review: Daphne Brogdon Sucks

Posted by Kasia on February 2, 2005 at 12:03am » Comment

I have just finished viewing the latest 24: Inside Webcast over on the FOX site featuring Shohreh Aghdashloo (Dina Araz) and co-executive producer/writer Peter Lenkov, hosted by none other than everybody’s favourite blonde, fake-breasted idiot bimbo, the loathe of my life, Daphne Brogdon!

I was hoping that Daphne might get the axe in favour of a new host this season after her blatantly unprofessional and brazenly annoying (non)contribution to last year’s webcasts, but sadly, no. She’s still there, mispronouncing names and misreading the teleprompter better than ever. I mean, what the fuck is a nuclear holoCAST? Is that like a hollow cast in the core of a nuclear device?

Almeida Returns!

Posted by Kasia on February 1, 2005 at 12:07am » Comment

We are now in the aftermath of the greatest comeback in 24 history. The emergency memo I posted yesterday, immediately after the show aired, can be found in our January 2005 Archive. To extend the sentiment of crazy happiness and worship, we are pleased to offer you A Long, Involved and Psychedelic Debrief for Episode 7, 1-2PM.

We are pleased, once again, to unite Tony fans from around the globe. It was high time for Tony’s return — he is the only thing that could possibly save what thus far has been a pretty sloppy and uninspired season. Yes, 24 is still the greatest TV show that ever existed, and yes, it is still better than pretty much anything else on television, but over the last 3 seasons, we have come to expect a certain calibre of suspense, interpersonal character dynamics, attention to detail in the plot and plain old-fashioned adrenaline — and it really just hasn’t been there. Thankfully, we now have Tony to save this season. I’m sure Jack is pretty happy about it too, since Tony totally saved his ass.
